Bill Bonner, 37, won the 40th Annual American Martyrs 5K on Saturday with a time of 16:22, a minute faster than last year’s winning time, and nearly a minute-and-a-half faster than his own time last year, when he finished third.

Loyola High runner Colin Jacobs, 16, finished second, in 17:17, 15 seconds faster than last year’s winning time.

Former Lebanon marathon record holder Pia Nehme, 38, was the first female finisher and third overall.

Over 700 runners competed in the race, which was followed by the First Annual American Martyrs Health Expo. A Ninja Nation obstacle course drew long lines of kids and the Active Recovery Zone tent treated runners with full leg compression sleeves.
