Winning Vitali-T Designed by Former Beach Cities Resident

It’s a crazy, connected world.

Vitality City announced its t-shirt design contest to 80,000 graphic designers from around the world. More than 130 of them submitted designs. 288 beach cities residents voted online for their favorites and chose the design submitted by Melanie Chapman of Vermont as the winner.

Now, here’s the crazy part.

Melanie used to live in Manhattan Beach and, at one time, worked for the Adventure Plex and the Beach Cities Health District. When she and her husband had their first child in 2009, they moved back east to be closer to family.

It must be her beach cities roots and sense of SoCal style that helped Melanie win the contest–and by a wide margin. Her handsome design received twice as many votes as the runner up.

The shirts will debut on April 25 and 26 at the kickoff event for the Vitality City Walking Moai Groups.   Watch for more information coming soon.
