Residents of Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes and Hawthorne are asked to suspend outdoor watering from September 6 to September 20 to “to ensure we all continue to have enough water for health and safety..,” according to a press release issued Wednesday, August 31, by Cal Water, the area’s water supplier.
The suspension of outdoor watering corresponds to an emergency repair of a 36 mile long Metropolitan Water District pipeline, which supplies Cal Water. For more about the suspension of outdoor watering, visit mwdh2o.com/shutdown.
The request is unrelated to the “heat dome” that is expected to cause record breaking temperatures throughout the Southland over the Labor Day weekend. ER
