Fibers on exhibit
An exhibit of contemporary fiber art in Southern California opened January 28 at the Palos Verdes Art Center and runs through April 15. Harbor Film Fest
The 20th annual LA Harbor International Film Festival is March 3-5 at Warner Grand Theatre, 478 W. 6th St., San Pedro. A slave’s story
Join the Palos Verdes Library District for an evening with author David Calloway, who will be discussing his book, “If Someday Comes: A Slave’s Story of Freedom,” about his great-grandfather’s experiences in the Civil War. Fallon, Teraskaki exhibit
Contemporary painter Bernard Fallon, and Richard Terasaki, wood turner, will be exhibiting their work at the Sandro Winkworth Wealth Management office by appointment only from March 6 through May 31, 2023. Fallon, a plein air painting instructor at the PV Art Center will be exhibiting some of his oils and pastels that interpret local scenes and whimsical moments with color and intensity. Terasaki is a member of the PVAC Artist Studio Gallery where his exquisite wood turning can be seen and he is a member of the El Camino Wood Turning Guild and has been a local RHE resident for 60 years. Point Vicente geology
Do you enjoy walking in our beautiful coastal environment? If so, join the docents from Los Serenos de Point Vicente for a walk through the Forrestal Nature Reserve. This guided walk will appeal to a wide age range and offers some spectacular vistas of the coastline. The theme for this nature walk is “Geology.” Docents will tell you about the local geology and there are many rock formations exposed in this area. You will also learn about plants and animals that make up our coastal sage scrub habitat. The walk is generally of moderate difficulty although steep gradients and rough surfaces make a few sections more challenging. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
