Kiwanians honor Koenig, Feys; Menard named president

The Kiwanis Club of Hermosa Beach celebrated its 97th Installation of the Officers Sunday, October 8, with incoming President Glenn Menard assuming the helm. 

Outgoing President Rick Koenig received the “Distinguished Kiwanian Award” for his 23 years as a club member, as well as a Proclamation from the city of Hermosa Beach.

“It’s been an honor and privilege to serve and fight the good fight. I’ve enjoyed every single minute of it,” Koenig said.

Longtime member Earl Feys was honored with the “Secretary’s Award” for his 25 years of service.

The Hermosa Kiwanis Club contributed to 55 charities and distributed 40 scholarships this year with proceeds from its holiday tree lot sales.

“This year will be another record-setting year for funding non-profits in the community,” Menard said.

The Mardis Gras themed party featured music by Alligator Beach, and Cajun food prepared by Chef Rafael Solorzano, of Salsa Verdes in Palos Verdes. ER
