Celebrating Community & Our Equestrian Heritage

On September 14, the City of Rolling Hills Estates hosted its annual celebration at the Empty Saddle Club. Invitations were mailed to all RHE residents, providing them with two free passes for activities such as pony and horse rides, a petting zoo, face painting, and rock wall climbing, along with traditional equestrian competitions, the annual poker ride, magic show and BBQ. In the morning guests watched a volleyball match between the City and the Sheriff’s department. At noon there was the Flag Ceremony and the Mayor Frank Zerunyan’s Welcome, along with a Stick Horse Rodeo event and a kid’s watermelon eating contest. The fare was down-home good with a “performance” breakfast station, Churros by Popa Churro, beverage service, Smoke Show BBQ lunch service and the City’s birthday cake and cupcakes for all. U.S. Bank, Peninsula Heritage School and Waste Management were a few of the day’s major sponsors.
