Car seat theft

Around 9 p.m. on August 8, officers responded to a car theft on the 2600 block of Fisk Ln. According to police, the owner said that she went out to her Chevy Tahoe and discovered that the driver’s side door handle had been removed. She also saw that the third row seat had been stolen. That was the only thing taken from the vehicle.

On the run

On August 10 around midnight a suspect entered the rear delivery doors of On the Rocks Restaurant. The suspect found the room that the safe was located in and removed large sums of money. According to police, the suspect was then confronted by an employee and fled from the restaurant, losing some of the cash during his flight. The suspect drove away in an unnamed car. The investigation is still ongoing.

Holy threats

Around 8:42 p.m. on August 11, officers responded to a church on the 100 block of N. Francisca Ave. According to police, the pastor told officers that he was made aware of some death threats to one of his parishioners by another parishioner. The threats were made over the internet and phone, and the suspect said he was going to come to church on Sunday and kill the parishioner. Officers learned that the suspect was in Torrance and within hours was arrested without incident and charged with criminal threats. ER
