Stolen money, car and clothes

Someone found the spare key and proceeded to open the front door of a business in the 1 block of Pier Plaza Oct. 17 and stole money from the register, police said. Also, an unknown person or persons entered an unlocked apartment, took the car keys and proceeded to steal the vehicle from the garage in the 400 block of The Strand Oct. 12, police said. And suspects made off with donated clothing intended to go to the poor when someone jimmied their way into a secured clothing donation drop box at Pacific Coast Highway and Fifth Street on Oct. 12, police said.

Smashing pumpkins

A local transient deemed mentally ill smashed hundreds of pumpkins in the parking lot of Ralph’s on Pacific Coast Highway, police said. The incident happened at night without witnesses, police said.
