Canyon guided nature walk
George F Canyon Guided Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, 10:30 a.m. You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in the canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Bluff guided nature walk
Walk through coastal sage habitat along the eastern bluff of the Reserve. Enjoy coastal views, see WWII sites and possibly gray whale sightings. The theme of the walk is “Modern History of PV and San Pedro.” Meet at 9 a.m. at the sign-in table that will be set up on the sidewalk on Twin Harbors View Drive. The moderate hike will take place though the coastal sage scrub habitat along the Eastern Bluff of Trump National Golf Course. Approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours duration. Sacred Expressions Retreat: Paint, Pause, Pray
9 a.m.-noon at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center, 5300 Crest Road, Rancho Palos Verdes. Participants follow a pattern and start with the same subject, but have artistic freedom and flexibility. The session will allow time for contemplative prayer using silence, music, scripture, and sharing as each artist creates their masterpiece. Individuals will be able to connect with others on a spiritual level while creating art. All skill levels are invited and no artistic experience is required. Cost: $45 per person (all materials included).

Pavilions complimentary wine tastings
Pavilions in Rolling Hills Estates offers a tasting of French wines on April 1. April 6 through April 8, from Duckhorn Vineyards, Faire La Fete sparkling wines, and The Prisoner wines. On April 15, they will be pouring sparkling wines from Le Grand Courtage. Caymus Family Wines will be poured on April 21. (Caymus will also co-host the Pavilions Wine Dinner on April 27 at L’Opera restaurant in Long Beach.) Austin Hope Family Wines are pouring on April 27. DAOU will be pouring on April 29, and Justin on April 30 as part of another Double Discount weekend. South Bay Bromeliad meeting
South Bay Bromeliad Associates will host Jerry Robinson, vice president of Rainforest Flora in Torrance. Robinson will demonstrate how to incorporate bromeliads into a tropical landscape and will show Neoregelias, Billbergias, Aechmeas and Vrieseas. The meeting is at 1:30 p.m. in the third floor Community Room at the Peninsula Center Library, 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates. Mary & Joseph Pilgrim Walk
Join the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center for the sixth annual Pilgrim Walk, a 4.8-mile walk through the streets and trails of Palos Verdes to the grounds of the retreat center. As pilgrims, walkers will be blessed and walk to various stations for reflection and to have passports stamped. All ages and faiths welcome. All activities will be outdoors. 7 a.m. registration opens, 7:30 a.m. blessing of all pilgrims, first groups depart, walk in a calm meditative way, 11:30 a.m. closing prayer and grace, picnic lunch at noon.
