Great California ShakeOut!
The City of Manhattan Beach is proud to participate in the annual Great California ShakeOut, a statewide earthquake preparedness drill. 10:17 – 10:47 a.m. The Manhattan Beach City Hall, 1400 Highland Avenue will be closed for approximately 30 minutes during the evacuation portion of the drill, simulating a real-life evacuation scenario following a large earthquake. Guided Ocean Trails Reserve walk
Meet at the sign-in table which will be set on the sidewalk of the parking lot at 1 p.m. Look for a banner. The hike will take place through the Coastal Sage Scrub Habitat along the Western Bluff of Trump National Golf Course. The tour will be of approximately 1 and 1⁄2 to 2 hours duration. This is a moderate hike which involves walking on some unstable surfaces and loose gravel down at the beach. The themes for this Nature Walk are R.P.V. founding and Japanese Farming.
