“The Silver Waves of Summer”
Spotlight: Tickets are on sale for the launch of “The Silver Waves of Summer,” a new anthology of “beach noir” short stories. Michael Scott Moore, Tod Goldberg, Naomi Hirahara, Antoine Wilson and other contributing authors will be on hand. The celebration is 6 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Hermosa Beach Museum, 710 Pier Ave., as part of the museum’s Happy Hour with History series. Guests receive a drink ticket at the door. The evening will include a reading from “The Silver Waves of Summer” and book signings. Tickets start at $5 and are available on Eventbrite. Shakespeare by the Sea
Shakespeare by the Sea is back with live, in-person performances. The theater group will be staging “Richard III” and “Love’s Labour Lost” this summer at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro. The performance dates for “Richard III” are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, July 23-25. The dates for “Love’s Labour Lost” are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Aug 13-15 and Aug. 20-22.
