Plant Sale
The Hermosa Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the Clark Building, 861 Valley Drive.
The event will feature reasonably priced beautiful plants, a bake sale, craft table, white elephant sale, and raffle of prizes donated by community businesses and individuals.
All proceeds benefit environmental and ecological organizations such as South Coast Botanic Garden, Manhattan Beach Botanic Garden, Palos Verdes Land Conservancy, Redondo Beach Bluff Restoration and Heal the Bay.
The 54-year-old garden club is a member of the Costa Verde District and the California Garden Clubs, Inc. The event is free.
Grannis paddle-out
A paddle-out and celebration of life will be held for legendary surf photographer LeRoy Grannis 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25 at the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. Grannis passed away earlier this year at age 93.
Bo Bridges Studios on Hermosa Avenue will feature a gallery showing of Grannis photos. There will also be a slide show of Granny’s work at Sangria Restaurant on the Pier Plaza, and the Hermosa Beach Surf Museum will have a large collection of his photos and memorabilia. ER
