Mystery author Joelle Charbonneau will be making an appearance at the independent bookstore, Mysterious Galaxy, around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Charbonneau is known for her two mystery series, including one young adult series that will be released in 2013, and her acting and opera singing experience.
She will be promoting her most recent book, Murder for Choir, and will also be signing and talking about her other novels.

Charbonneau, who never intended to be an author, has written six novels, and will be coming out with a new ACT meets the Hunger Games series called The Testing in May 2013.
“Book signings are so much fun,” said Charbonneau in a phone interview. “You never really know how a book sighing is going to go no matter how big a name you are… I’m a performer so I do much better talking in front of people and, more often than not, I talk about all the books I’ve read.”
This will be Charbonneau’s first visit to the Mysterious Galaxy. She is also in town for the Romance Writers of American National Conference in Anaheim.
“We usually try to have about two authors sign per week,” said Emilio Flores, a bookseller at Mysterious Galaxy. “We’re always busy with authors and have a wide variety — anywhere from major published authors to local to independent authors and self published ones.”
Flores said that Charbonneau’s books sell well at the bookstore, and their patrons enjoy her “cozy-mysteries.”
“There’s something about being able to just step into a book store or library and know your book is there,” said Charbonneau. “It’s the coolest thing ever.”
In addition to selling books, the Mysterious Galaxy recently opened a second location for the Catalina Coffee Company. For book signings, staff members recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. They encourage fans to bring books they want the author to sign or buy copies at the shop.
The Mysterious Galaxy is located at 2810 Artesia Blvd. ER
