Nature Author Series
Join the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy at 7 p.m. for a live Zoom presentation from Sydney, Australia, by Charlotte McConaghy, author of the best selling novels, “Migrations” and “Once There Were Wolves.” McConaghy’s writing is fueled by her love of nature and her interest in stories of fierce women. Her newest novel, “Once There Were Wolves,” is about a biologist charged with reintroducing wolves to the Scottish Highlands in order to re-wild the landscape and bring a forest back to life. Cactus Wren monitoring training
Become a Community Scientist and help monitor the charismatic and rare cactus wren in the PV Land Conservancy’s preserves. Participants will help track the birds, their nests and their success in rearing babies March to August. 8:30–11:30 a.m. Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com.
Alta Vicente volunteer day

George F guided walk

Vistas for Children’s spring fundraiser, Rosé All Day, is set for 10 a.m. on March 6 at Palos Verdes Golf Club, 3301 Via Campesina. There will be a boutique, luncheon, fashion show, live auction and a raffle. There will also be an online auction preceding the event. All proceeds benefit children with special needs and their families in the South Bay. Tickets are $250. An additional $50 buys you rosé all day. Five-day silent, directed retreat
The retreat is scheduled for March 20-25 at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center, 5300 Crest Rd, Rancho Palos Verdes.
