Fraud
A man was given counterfeit money in exchange for his iPhone, which he listed for sale on Craigslist, around 7:30 p.m. on Mar. 5 on the 400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, according to police reports. Police described the suspect, who identified himself as “Daniel,” as an adult in his mid-20s, about six feet tall with a thin build, wearing a white hooded sweater, dark pants and dirty white and blue Jordans.
Arrest
After stopping a bicyclist on the 1600 block of Rosecrans Avenue around 9 p.m. on Mar. 5, police discovered that the bike had been stolen from Pasadena, according to MBPD. The rider was arrested.
Stolen briefcases
Two briefcases were stolen from a car on the 2200 block of Magnolia Avenue and then left nearby with their contents inside during the night of Mar. 3 or the morning of Mar. 4, police said. There were no signs of forced entry into the car, according to police.
Theft
A GPS device and miscellaneous items were stolen from an unlocked car on the 800 block of Harkness Street between Feb. 20 and 24, MBPD said.
Stolen lug nuts
The lug nut covers were stolen from all of the tires of a 2011 Cadillac Escalade on the 3600 block of Poinsettia Avenue between 4 p.m. on Mar. 2 and 8 a.m. on Mar. 3, according to police reports. ER
