Marijuana with a street value in excess of $150,000, and weighing over 50 pounds was confiscated by Hermosa Police last week during the search of a South Redondo Beach apartment. The apartment’s tenant, Jeffrey Moore, was already in Hermosa police custody. He gave officers a key to his apartment after they obtained a search warrant.
The investigation began in early June when two Hermosa Beach businesses told police they had received unsolicited packages in the mail, which appeared to contain marijuana.
Police were able to trace the mailings’ origins to two post offices, one in Redondo, and one in Torrance, according to Hermosa Police Public Information Sergeant Mick Gaglia. Police reviewed post office videos to identify Moore.
Sergeant Gaglia said police don’t know the identity of the intended recipients of the packages mailed to the two Hermosa Beach businesses.
Court records indicate Moore was released on his own recognizance. His court date is pending. ER
