A long-awaited groundbreaking for Alta Sea’s new Center of Innovation was held on June 8 on the marine science research campus at the Port of Los Angeles. The groundbreaking on Berth 57.5, under the Discovery Dome, was attended by Alta Sea CEO Terry Tamminen, the Alta Sea board of trustees, Swinerton Construction, and representatives of the Annenberg Foundation. Annenberg contributed $25 million dollars to the Center. Alta Sea is creating a campus at the Port of Los Angeles where scientists will focus on solving environmental problems. The 35-acre Alta Sea campus offers 4,100 linear feet of waterfront dock, and wharf space.
