Record one-week increases in COVID-19 cases were reported by all three Beach Cities for the week ending Tuesday, Dec. 20. Hermosa reported 66 new cases and also recorded a record one-day high of 15 new cases on Dec. 15. Manhattan reported 63 new cases last week. Redondo reported 147 news cases last week and a record one day of 32 cases on Dec. 17. Redondo also reported another COVID-19 death last week, bringing its total to 14. Hermosa and Manhattan have each reported four deaths since the start of the pandemic in March. Last week’s increase in COVID-19 cases were predicted a month ago, because of Thanksgiving gatherings.
